Roman Catholic Monsignor Jean-Michael di Falco Leandri announced he recognizes the "supernatural origin" of the Virgin Mary apparitions to 17-year-old Behoite Recurel. The apparitions occurred from 1664 to 1718.
Benoite Rencurel was born on September 16, 1647 in a small Alps town called Saint-Etienne d'Avançon. The family lived a moderate life making a living from working with their hands. Upon death of the father Guilaume Rencurel, difficult time fell on the wife and three daughters. With no school in the small village the only instruction was that of Sunday Mass so Benoite never learned to read of write. Benoite was know for praying for long periods of time and one day in May of 1664 while attending sheep in a grotto she saw an apparition of a beautiful woman on a rock with a child, while saying the rosary. The apparition would continue daily for four month when the apparition did not return. It is said this absence was a time of purification.
In 1933 just 12 days after the apparition at Beauraing, Belgium, rumor was about that another apparition was taking place in Banneux. Though suspicion was widespread at first, the concerns of the faithful were quickly changed by the select few who were witness to the heavenly visits to Mariette Beco.
12 year old Mariette was the oldest daughter of 11 children. She was said to be a sturdy outdoor type with strong headedness. Helpful to her mother by caring for the family needs, she was said to be robust and normal in every way.
NOTE: Maria Esperanza died Saturday August 7, 2004, at 4:36 a.m. in Southern Ocean County Hospital near the New Jersey shore, after a long bout with a Parkinson's like ailment. All her family members were by her side at the hospital. After her death the room was filled with a strong fragrance of roses. She was 75.
Approved by the Catholic Church, November 21, 1987, this 20th century apparition is still taking place. Our Lady of Betania, Venezuela appears to visionary Maria Esperanza. The Virgin Mary manifests herself under the title, "Mary, Virgin and mother Reconciler of all people and nations.
Francisco died on 4 April 1919 and Jacinta died on 20 Februrary 1920. Before she dies, little Jacinta revealed little-known but remarkable statements made by Our Lady. Here are just some of them:
More souls go to hell because of sins of the flesh than for any other reason. Certain fashions will be introduced that will offend Our Lord very much. Many marriages are not good; they do not please Our Lord and are not of God. Priests must be pure, very pure. They should not busy themselves with anything except what concerns the Church and souls. The disobedience of priests to their superiors and to the Holy Father is very displeasing to Our Lord. The Blessed Mother can no longer restrain the hand of her Divine Son from striking the world with just punishment for its many crimes.
Tell everybody that God gives graces through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. tell them to ask graces from her, and that the Heart of Jesus wishes to be venerated together with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
